For reasons unconnected with this thread, I was interested in whether the Latin word "olim" was identified and linked to other "Once upon a time" entries.
When I looked up "olim" as though I were an ordinary user, I was redirected to a page that offered a purported disambiguation to a botany reference or to the article on aliya, with no link to "Once upon a time."
I followed the botany link, and found it led nowhere related to botany, but instead found the Wiktionary page for the Latin term.
Why there's a link to the Botany listing is not my concern at this point, since I'm not (yet?) a Wikipedia editor. But, putting myself in the place of an ordinary user, if I look up a word like "olim" I would like to be told what it means, even via redirection to Wiktionary.
In other words, the Botany reference seems meaningless, and instead of having to go to Botany to find the Latin meaning of olim, one should be able to get there directly.
If there's a more Wikipedia-acceptable way to help the user do this, please educate me.Kromholz (talk) 22:09, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- I don't understand why you say that the entry led nowhere related to botany. Perhaps that is fixed now. Nadiatalent (talk) 12:41, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
