I removed "Ichthyosaurs" from the "Fauna" section below the main article because paleontologists agree that ichthyosaurs didn't appear until around 230 million years ago, 15 million years after the Olenekian. This is corroborated by Wiki's entry on ichthyosaurs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichthyosaur

“Ichthyosaurs thrived during much of the Mesozoic era; based on fossil evidence, they first appeared approximately 230 million years ago (Mya) [during the Laninian] and disappearing ….”

I also changed "disappearing" to "disappeard" in the ichthyosaur article for parallel verb structure purposes.

Notable formations

[edit]

In the list of Olenekian notable formations added to this article on 7 February 2023 by Fanboyphilosopher, 8 of 13 are not even definitely Olenekian (but they are instead described as "Tentatively assigned to the Olenekian"). I think this severely weakens the case for their inclusion in this list. I suggest that the formations marked "tentative" should be removed from this list.
