article wrong or misleading
[edit]This article is, at best, confusing. The picture in the previous revision is certainly the building I know as "the Mutual Life Insurance Company Building". If there's another one by that name I'm not aware of it -- and the article needs to more clearly identify that other building.
The tower pictured in the above revision of the article is not, to the best of my knowledge, referred to as the Mechanics and Farmers Bank or any variant thereof. M&F Bank headquarters are several miles away, on 15-501 Business. (Let me know if a photo would be helpful, although there's currently no article.)

- This article refers to a six-story building at 114-116 West Parrish, built in 1921 for NC Mutual Life. It has a carved panel reading "Mechanics and Farmers Bank"; it may have housed both businesses at some time. I have moved it to "Old North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company Building" to avoid confusion, because it's clearly not the modern NC Mutual Life tower. Magic♪piano 00:55, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
