It is not the old "Central" High School, it is the old "Pittsfield" High School. It is on Second Street, not First. Sometime after the "new" Pittsfield High School on East Street came into being in ~1932 it was used as a Junior High School (there were several Jr. High Schools in Pittsfield at that time) and was referred to as "Central Junior High School". There may have been a period in the 1960's where it was used for class space before Taconic High School was built on Valentine Road but I have not found that reference yet. The "Central" reference from it's Jr. days may have returned at that point. Berkshire Community College was located in this building around 1970 before moving to it's new campus on outer West Street. Today it is converted to housing and called the Central Annex. There is a Catholic high school in Pittsfield. It is Saint Joseph Central High School. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Milo066 (talkcontribs) 14:11, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide sources that document all of this? (I will correct the address, which appears to be wrong in the National Register.) Magic♪piano 02:53, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
