[edit]The completion of the road must not have eliminated the need because the steamers still ran from Soda Creek to Quesnel on and off until 1921. I'm sure it reduced the need and was part of the reason that the Upper Fraser paddlewheelers went obsolete.CindyBo 04:43, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
In the article Gustavus_Blin-Wright it says that Wright was born in Vermont, that would make him American not British/Swedish would it not? Zedcaster 04:53, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Cariboo Trail in WA
[edit]Added info about a wagon road also called "Cariboo" and leading to the Cariboo and other mining regions of BC. Its function was much like the Okanagan Trail, except it didn't follow the Columbia River, and was a road up the Okanagan Valley rather than a water-route. I'm not entirely sure this info truly belongs on this page, but as it was called the Cariboo Trail or Road, it seemed appropriate to at least make a mention here. - Known as teh HBC Brigade Trail in BC - or one of them, that is; yes, "the trail to Cariboo" and probably the busiest one from the States....from Kamloops ran NW to Bridge Lake....Skookum1 (talk) 03:22, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Woo, a reply to a 3+ year old edit/comment. I had totally forgotten about this and don't even have the book referenced anymore (was from the library)! Pfly (talk) 04:54, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- I saw your post, which I guess I glossed over or forgot to reply to all those years ago, because I'd stopped by as someone had changed the Canada Roads WikiProject to "Streets in Canada", and this was not a street. Very definitely not LOL.Skookum1 (talk) 09:05, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
