Talk:Ol' Glory

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ol' Glory is a kitsch soda that is rather hard to find and very inexpensive. Many other products are listed on wikipedia such as Pepsi, Sprite, and Coca-Cola. The intention of the creator of this page is not to advertise the product, but to simply provide accurate information about it.

Existence of one article is not a valid argument for the existence of another. Please see WP:N. If you can find multiple reliable sources which cite this soda as the primary focus of the article, then you can argue for its continuing here. Otherwise, it will be read as advertising, and probably eventually deleted. Corvus cornix 06:42, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BAM! Now I got 3 ref's =p

Linking a few random results from a google search is not sufficient. Find references in reliable sources. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 10:03, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Holy shit, you guys are a bunch of jerks. Listen. I like this soda. It's new. There is nothing in wiki about it. If you don't like what's posted here or have more to contribute, add it yourself. It's not like I can reference anything more than peoples web pages and the offical site. Half the junk on wiki is made up anyway, at least this article is pure information, and mostly accurate as far as I can tell.

Please repost the article so that I can edit it and make it more "encyclopedia like" What is more reliable than the company who produces it?!?! Many other products that are listed on wiki get most of the information from the official product website.

You can not erase the existance of Ol' Glory from the annals of history! It shall live on in our hearts and minds! We shall tell our children of its greatness!! Ol' Glory for life!!!!

Also, ˉanetode, the refernces aren't just a "few random results from a google search," they are the only references to Ol' Glory that I could find anywhere.

Which would tend to support our contention that the subject of this article fails Wikipedia's notability requirements. By the way, I saw Ol' Glory in the supermarket this morning. But just because it exists doesn't mean it's notable. Corvus cornix 22:03, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just because something exists doesn't mean that it belongs in an encyclopedia?!?! Ok, remove all the other sodas and energy drinks listed. Get rid of redbull and rockstar and fanta and all the others!! Might as well get rid of the entry for Pluto, after all many would not consider Pluto notable.

Please see Wikipedia:Inclusion is not an indicator of notability, in particular An editor nominating one article for deletion is under no obligation to search for and nominate related articles of a similar level of notability (though they often do). Inconsistent enforcement of the deletion policy is a problem which is not the responsibility of any single editor. If you think another article is of equal non-notability to one being considered for deletion, you are welcome to nominate that article as well, but please do not disrupt Wikipedia to make a point.. Ol' Glory can be found referenced by many people on blogs and journals. Many images of it appear on the Internet as well. The definition of notable is ambiguous at best. Is there a reason you are giving me a hard time about this article? I don't work for this company, i just like the friggin' drink. --Unsavvyscott 22:18, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
