Length of Ogden Canyon

[edit]

The article states that the Ogden Canyon is 12 miles long, and also states that Pineview Reservoir is 7 miles east of Ogden. The only thing that separates Ogden City from Pineview Reservoir is Ogden Canyon, and 12 miles is not equal to 7 miles. Which is it? Val42 14:45, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously those numbers were taken from two different sources. I'm a long way from Utah but I would guess the implication is that the canyon is 12 miles long in total while a straight line to Ogden from that point is 7 miles. If that's not the case then I would say the second source is the least reliable. --Chroniclev 21:22, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was hoping to get the person who put in those measurements to fix them. But since you replied instead, I brought up a Google map and measured it. The canyon is about six miles long, including the curves. I'll put that number in. Val42 21:53, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Length of Ogden River

[edit]

Okay, here's another length problem: This article says that the Ogden River is 35 miles long and that it begins at the convergence of the forks of the Ogden River at Pineview Dam. However, from this convergence to the confluence with the Weber River is only the length of the canyon plus four or five miles to the confluence. I'm going to update the article. — Val42 04:24, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
