Accuracy
[edit]The accuracy of parts of this artcile are highly suspect.
1/. The Crown is NOT an institution that stands in place of a written constitution. See the relevant article for a proper definition if required.
2/. The Church has never been responsible for enforcing Law in England.
3/. Whilst the Church of England does (or, at least, the Church Commissioners do) have its own Official Solicitor (in full, the Official Solicitor to the Church Commissioners) I cannot find any evidence to suggest that the two positions have ever been linked in any way.
4/. The history and function of the role stated here is not backed up in http://www.officialsolicitor.gov.uk.
5/. In the section concerning the Pentonville Five - the Official Solicitor merely refered a case of Contempt of Court to the Court for review - he didn't order the release himself, and did so as part of his standard function - ie not drawing on ancient unknown powers.
Please add citations to all statements in this article, or else I will mark it as needing verification, and will begin to re-write it based on the history and role at http://www.officialsolicitor.gov.uk. --The Thieving Gypsy 20:01, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
