The Truth about Odette Krempin
[edit]http://en.academic.ru/dic.nsf/enwiki/145661 is given aa source that she is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. Why is an external wiki is used as source when there is the same article at Wikipedia (UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador), where Odette Krempin is not mentioned? See also here. --84.184.38.166 (talk) 19:00, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia articles are not original sources, and external sources are preferred. I really think you should drop your personal vendetta against this person, and stop trying to erase the article. Oscroft (talk) 19:14, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Shouldn't a source at unesco.org be considered more reliable concerning UNESCO than a Russian wiki? --84.184.38.166 (talk) 19:20, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. She is not listed on the UNESCO page, therefore the claim is not verifiable and has been removed. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 19:40, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Grave concerns
[edit]I have grave concerns about the verifiability of pretty much everything in this article. I've just search Newsbank and LexisNexis Academic, both major databases of news and periodicals. The only think I found in Newsbank is a Nigerian article about Krempin judging a beauty contest and some controversy over the results. LexisNexis turns up nothing, zero, nada. As it stands, nothing here is verifiable. Unless someone can produce some reliable sources, I'm going to begin trimming everything that isn't verifiable and leave it as a stub. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 21:17, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Looks like AfD territory to me. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:22, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Message
[edit]This was left on the article..it was purporting to be from the subject and was from a German IP...
Dear Friend, visitors of the DAJW Citizens of Germany and citizens of the world, I would like to inform you that the allegations made by the media are false regarding me and the DAJW.
The DAJW never misused any donations! I have founded this association 3 years ago with the goal to support immigrant children from different nationalities and also Germany children who needed help.I have founded the DAJW with my own money and I can promise you until now the money we received from donators was very limited and always was used for our projects.
Und until now one have come and accuse us of abusing the a donation! We have forwarded the DAJW books to independent auditors to proof that we have nothing to hide. I am very sad and very disappointed the way the media have been attacking me and trying to destroy my name in such an aggressive way
I have t admit that mistakes have been made during our first charity gala on the 27 November 2008 and facts have not always been presented 100% correct, particularly with respect to the exact role of some sponsors. Here I was relying on my management team whom I trusted but unfortunately they did not always work professional. Nevertheless I take responsibility of whatever went wrong.
We all make mistakes we are human beings and non body is perfect, but I promise you we will learn from that. You yourself know how the media are making up stories every day to fill their papers and don’t mind destroying people’s reputation. Therefore for I would like you to judge buy yourself and time will prove that I was just a victim of media discrimination,But what is happening now will not stop me from continuing helping children in need it will just make me strong
. The non-violence practiced by men like Gandhi and King may not have been practical or possible in every circumstance, but the love that they preached - their faith in human progress - must always be the North Star that guides us on our journey. I would like to thank everyone for you support and those one who are sending me very nice Message
Thank you very much God bless you.Thank you

- Yes, I think if you look through the article history you will see that there have been some conflict of interest problems and strange additions that seem to be from the subject herself or someone closely connected. We will also get some bleed-over from the German Wikipedia where this person is debated. I think the best strategy is to keep it closely trimmed to what is immediately verifiable in the sources given. We have some German-speaking editors that can verify. This is obviously not a forum for Krempin or her associates to sound off. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 17:52, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
- We do take issues the subject has with their articles seriousely, even if it was not expressed in the correct way and we also have no verification that it is her. I saw all the previous to-ing and fro-ing, it will clearly be continuing, as I thought it would. Off2riorob (talk) 18:12, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Married to industrial with two children
[edit]There is an issue with this, it is repeatedly removed, I had a look and couldn't see it in the translation, if is is there it is disputed and the reliable citation should be translated and the translation and the German equivalent all in the footnotes. So that it is clear for all to see. Off2riorob (talk) 15:43, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think it's necessary to put all this in the footnotes, I just took the basics from the text of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
- Translation: "She lives with her 13-year-old son Max at the Lohrberg in Seckbach. Her husband, a German, she says works in the metal industry. 'A global player.' She expects Edward in Frankfurt in a few days. She met the nine-year-old some years ago in an orphanage in her home country and adopted him just now."
When I translated it, I get..was like in the past, no longer. Off2riorob (talk) 15:58, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- A more precise translation of the sentence would be "Her husband, a German, she says was working in the metal industry." but that's not a "was" as in past tense but one that reflects her assertion. Is conjunctive mood a correct description? I don't know with certainty :S Hekerui (talk) 17:28, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- In German, a non-literal quotation (de:Indirekte Rede) sets the verbe in the conjunctive mood, and the tense (present) refers to the time of speaking. This means that K. had a husband at the time of the interview. Indeed, we do not know if she still has a husband or if her husband is still a working in the metal industry. But in the absence of information about his death or divorce, we can still be quite sure that she is still married. If her husband had been dead or if she had divorced him, if he did no longer work in the metal industry, the sentence would be: ""Ihr Mann, ein Deutscher, wäre in der Metallindustrie tätig gewesen, sagt sie". It appears that she has one son not necessary from her current husband, and one adopated son. Andreas (T) 19:17, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, are there any new reports about this woman at all? Any updates on the accusations of fraud? We need to keep such accusations as up to date as possible, has a report been made, is there an ongoing investigation? Off2riorob (talk) 19:23, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- Can't find any news. Hekerui (talk) 20:01, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- No, me neither, I am of the feeling that there may never be an investigation, but we can give it some more time, an update would be good. 20:09, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- I am close to Krempin and all i have to say is that there was no investigation of any kind. I believe the whole story was made up to serve against her and the whole DAJW idea. (jose ugs (talk) 11:06, 8 June 2010 (UTC))
- I also do not see any investigation happening, it should perhaps be added to the article that after so many months no investigation was forthcoming. Off2riorob (talk) 11:10, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- That would need a reliable source, too. Hekerui (talk) 11:37, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- I doubt there will be any since the whole thing was a bed-time story. (jose ugs (talk) 11:50, 8 June 2010 (UTC))
- We cannot simply report about as living person that an investigation was to tsake place and leave it at that till the end of time when there are no further reports of any investigation. Off2riorob (talk) 12:08, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- Like i told you, there aren't any reports because there was no investigation. They started something and ended up quickly with a bed-time story. Now how do you expect to have a report of that exactly, when they made a whole lot of noise for nothing? (jose ugs (talk) 13:06, 8 June 2010 (UTC))
- I fully support your position and don't personally think there is actually any official investigation at all, however there are editors that want the article to reflect the single citation that claims there is, so imo we will have to wait until a comment is in the press that nothing came of it or after some more time I will ask for closure of the claim as nothing came of it, this is the kind of problem wikipedia has, if you are in touch with the living subject suggest to her to contact wikipedia in person and discuss the contents removal as I can see it could negatively affect her in the real world. Off2riorob (talk) 13:55, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oh man, that's a real problem right there... if i'm a newspaper that made up a story and it didn't go nowhere - i'll never put out an article that says i was wrong. And if that's the only real-life "proof" i can see a whole lot of unhappy faces here... I'm close to O. Krempin and i asked her to put up an official statement that'll clear the situation up but i'm not sure if that'll do the job. And a good question is ... how do you contact Wikipedia in person? The way i see it, it sounds like the only way to go ... because the whole story already affected the person in the real world. (jose ugs (talk) 08:34, 9 June 2010 (UTC))
- That would need a reliable source, too. Hekerui (talk) 11:37, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

alleged ed fraud investigation
[edit]Its nine months now since this was announced and still nothing has happened or will ever happened, we need to update this so called fraud investigation that is not happening. Off2riorob (talk) 10:59, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Reporter walks into the states attourney office and asks, what about this fraud allegations and the secrertary who has no idea what is going on says....ow...we are investigating. Off2riorob (talk) 11:01, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Time to remove allegations
[edit]This article contains contentious material about living persons that is poorly sourced, given the the allegations were never proven in court, and the charges were apparently dropped before they even reached a court. I will therefore remove all the contentious material from the article. Andreas (T) 17:42, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Here is a source for the charges dropped[1] Andreas (T) 18:59, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Then add it to the article; don't pretend the whole thing never happened. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:47, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Art collection
[edit]The passage on art collection contained the quote "acquired the art objects in Africa, from Africans at all levels in their society...in the context of their daily existence". This is verbatim the same as in the article for William Henry Sheppard. Since there is no source for K. to have acquired the collection, I removed the passage, Andreas (T) 18:23, 15 September 2012 (UTC)ml].
City of Frankfurt's contribution
[edit]We have a problem here: the aricle where the City of Frankfurt's contribution is mentioned is mainly about the charges that were later dropped, and it says so in the title of the article. This is why I removed that information. If we want to include it, the reader will know about the alegations, so we will have to include also the information that the charges were dropped. Note that the FAZ included the City's contribution only because of the frustration it caused ("bei der Stadt Frankfurt ist man verärgert"), else this is not more relevant than the contribution of any other donor. I would prefer a more balanced description of the charitable work of K. I want to add that personally, I have no relation to K., I don't know anything about her except for what is here in WP, my only concern is to follow the policy on biographies of living persons, as stated at the top of this discussion page. Andreas (T) 20:05, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
pls. review article for relevance
[edit]The article about Odette Krempin is hard to beat in misinformation. Substantially all of the information derived from self-reported data from Mrs. Krempin in a FAZ interview from 2009. Neither the nobility nor the 200 thousand EUR capital or alleged active activities in the fashion world are occupied. Concerning "DAJW" there is no information in zhe www, except state attorneys investigation, because of a scandal involving misappropriated donations Currently Ms. Krempin re-emerged as "Chairman" of a company "Somima". To what extent this "company" really exsists is not clear. Obviously "Somima" was not founded until the end of 2010: http://www.somima.com/company/history In September 2010, the Maniema Investment Group Ltd. SOMIMA encouraged to create a new Congolese Which company now has Congolese and German shareholders all from the same family, with one holding 75% of the company. Between September 2010 and January 2011, the existing management was complemented with a new chairman and six general managers. The "headquarters" and "sales offices" in Frankfurt, Mumbai and Hong Kong are "virtualized hosted offices" Ergo: pretty website - no content. The wikipedia article should be urgently reviewed for "relevance". -- 2013-01-01, admin -- — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.167.184.39 (talk) 13:40, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
