Stub Status
[edit]A stub is an article containing only a few sentences of text which — though providing some useful information — is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject, and which is capable of expansion; this article is a stub. --Plasmic Physics (talk) 04:44, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Every article in Wikipedia is capable of expansion. The vast majority of articles will never grow beyond a few sentences, and do have to. Check any encyclopedia. So what is the point of defacing articles with those silly stub tags? It is like wearing a T-shirt saying "I WISH I WERE SMARTER"...
Besides, that definition of "stub" is wrong: a stub is an article which is definitely incomplete, e.g. because it does not properly define the subject, has no references, needs to be wikified, etc.. Clearly this is not the case here.
By the way, this is definitely an organic compound. A definition of "organic" that does not include this compound (or benzenehexol) is broken and useless.
All the best, --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 11:24, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
The definition I gave is an excrept, look at WP:Stub for a full explanation. This article only contains four sentences of text, and is too short to provide excyclopedic coverage of the subject.
This article is definitely incomplete, it does not properly define the subject. --Plasmic Physics (talk) 04:22, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
