Can someone add New Zealand to regional?

[edit]

Maori art should be added, I would but I've never added significant info to a page and I'm lazy. --125.237.91.77 (talk) 12:21, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

History of Art page needs your help

[edit]

Hi all, I do not know enough about Oceanic art to write a good introductory paragraph, but I wanted to point out to you all that the History of Art main page could use your help. There is nothing on Oceania except for a link to here. --TravisNygard (talk) 23:43, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Prehistoric Section Needs Updating to Culturally Appropriate Terms and Other

[edit]

In Australia, it's not acceptable to use the term "Aborigine". Even in a historical context, it's not necessary to use that terminology and should be updated.

Additionally, I believe that older art has been recovered in Australia than is mentioned in this paragraph.

Finally, there is no mention in the paragraph (or indeed the article at all) of Dreaming, which is the basis for the First Nations culture in Australia.

I am not a First Nations person and therefore request these updates to be made, but I'm not comfortable making the edits myself. MJREightyNine (talk) 05:06, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the term Aborigine, but I'm not sure about the referencing for the rest, so if someone who knows about that could make the other changes, that would be wonderful. MJREightyNine (talk) 05:23, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
