The introductory paragraph of this short article concludes: "Pacification of the Araucanía was the name given by Chilean authorities to hide the military aspect of the incorporation." The assertion is dubious ("pacification" connotes military operations to native English-speakers, and this article is in English) and is not neutral in POV ("hide" connotes underhandedness, deviousness; "obscure" might be less contentious). May not this sentence be rewritten to, at the least, "Pacification of the Araucanía was the name given by Chilean authorities"? If not, should not the original author adduce some evidence that "pacification" was applied to the long campaign in a conscious attempt to obscure the martial aspects of the operation?
