Randall Garrett's Lord Darcy
[edit]I'm not sure if Randall Garrett's Lord Darcy stories are examples of the same motif, since they are explicitly set in an alternate world where magic is common and accepted. --Jim Henry 19:55, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- Do we want a list of occult detectives? I'm not sure that would be relevant at this point, with so little detail in the body copy. I question why the wiki project law banner is on this page, since the article deals with fictional detectives and fantasy, and has nothing to do with the legal profession. I also question the value of The Ghostbreakers as an external link: the site contains many inaccuracies, and their criteria for including/excluding characters is not made clear. I would not recommend it as a supplemental source for this article. 12.22.250.4 23:08, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Redirect
[edit]I just created a redirect to this article from Occult detective fiction. Unless somebody makes a logical claim against doing so, I'll be flipping the locations: making Occult detective redirect to Occult detective fiction and placing all content on the later's article page. This would be more inline with Wikipedia's format (i.e., horror fiction, supernatural fiction, detective fiction), since this article is concerned with the subgenre as a whole and not simply the character archetype. - hornoir (talk) 14:27, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Done — Since no opposition was raised in the two+ weeks since I proposed the move, I boldly enacted the proposal. hornoir (talk) 19:32, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Appalling Article
[edit]This whole article is a farce. It's wrong on various points of fact and it's very poorly laid out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.16.220.239 (talk) 17:21, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- However, the entire thing has been stolen word for word by Ultimate Pop Culture https://ultimatepopculture.fandom.com/wiki/Occult_detective_fiction :-) I was looking for something on a very spooky detective who has lived for centuries and has a mission to fight evil. If I could remember his name or the author's name, I'd do an edit. Wastrel Way (talk) 16:20, 7 April 2021 (UTC) Eric
