NPOV, anyone?
[edit]"these technical details are not worked out properly"
Really? I rather liked them. Still, I'm certain this violates some rule of Wikipedia - NPOV? Weasel words? Lack of source? Korodzik (talk) 17:34, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
English version?
[edit]It hasn't been translated yet? One of my fav Lem's books... Zezen (talk) 08:03, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
Plot summary is incomplete
[edit]The story begins with Tichy going on vacation to Switzerland. He is gifted a castle by one of his Swiss fans, Kussmich, an industrialist. This turns out to be a ploy to partly blame Tichy for aiding Kussmich, who is being sued in a civil case. Tichy meets with a lawyer (Finkelstein) to discuss his defence, then is approached by an official from the Ministry of Extraterrestrial Affairs. He is informed that his previous voyage to the planet he knew as Enteropia (Voyage 14 in Lem's Star Diaries) ended up causing a potential diplomatic incident, which needs to be remedied. Trurl studies the secret archives, then is sent to Entia (the real name of the planet) as Earth's diplomatic envoy. Morycm (talk) 16:35, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
I am not adding this by myself, since someone no doubt will accuse me of it being my own research, unknown source etc. FYI I am a native Polish speaker, Lem's fan for 40+ years, and his collected works are on my shelf - in Polish of course. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Morycm (talk • contribs) 16:40, 4 October 2024 (UTC) Morycm (talk) 16:54, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- The details about castle are unimportant, and the fact that Tichy visited Enteropia is included in the lede as a background. But I did update the plot with brief description of the preceding events. They are fun to read, but really noncritical for the major theme. --Altenmann >talk 19:30, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
