What do the lyrics from "Until Dawn" have to do with anything?
[edit]I don't see why the lyrics from "Until Dawn" are added. There are dozens of variants on the lyrics; it's a folk song. But in this case, I can guarantee that the lyrics as used in the game soundtrack are simply intentionally changed so they could copyright their version of the song. As such, it's not particularly relevant to the "real" historical song, just a modern song written to echo the lyrics to the real thing. If we have to have more than one version included, I'd rather see the lyrics to an old, genuine folk version, rather than one intentionally corrupted just to "make it their own song" (kind of like the Kingston Trio did with the songs that they performed...i.e. "Tom Dooley", etc, which are obviously based on the original, but not the same song.) But I would say that there is no real need to show two different sets of lyrics, unless one wants to demonstrate two divergent historical versions of the song, such as the difference between a preserved English ballad and the corrupted version that survived in Appalachia for a few hundred years. If we're going to print multiple versions, where does it end? There are lots of variants. Are we going to include them all? Ralph Stanley's version makes sense, because it's the most famous and popular one. Others don't make much sense..45Colt 00:54, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- I concur. I will be WP:BOLD & remove it. Someone who wants to look at the alt lyrics can certainly find them elsewhere. --Gimubrc (talk) 14:12, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
