DMCAs, Spammers, and Scrapers
[edit]Look around the net and you'll see that OVH doesn't cease activity of DMCAs, spammers, and scrapers. I think we should list this. 2.107.66.110 (talk) 23:07, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
Wikileaks news add to page notability
[edit]Now may be the time to restore the article, and add this new info: OVH is now servicing wikileaks, and for this is under pressure by the French government. The case has been submitted to a judge, which is expected to take a decision by today or tomorrow. Sources: [1][2][3][4].--Sum (talk) 16:04, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Wikileaks being hosted here certainly makes this a notable page now 129.186.57.95 (talk) 02:35, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Keep - clearly now notable in world news. --Mervyn (talk) 10:02, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Wikileaks legal situation wrongfully confirmed
[edit]From what I read on the german forums of OVH the judges rejected the cases because of formal reasons and that's also what the AFP press release says. They did neither confirm nor deny the legality of hosting wikileaks in france. So if anyone would go on and sue OVH or their customer, the decision could go either way. It was just this special process OVH choose where there are no two parties involved but only one asking for clarification that is formally not correct for such situations. The Article however states that court ruled against censorship. From my point of view they did not say that. If anyone can confirm my concerns please edit the article so that it is correctly displaying the situation correctly. IANAL and especially don't know french law situation (might be I misunderstood it and the rejection of that special 2 cases also means that anyone trying to sue OVH or their customer would also get rejected automatically, but that's not what it looks like to me) also I am no native english speaker and am not sure how to phrase that unambigious. --Mastacheata (talk) 00:11, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- I now decided to write the changes myself after reading the UK Forums entry by OVH. Seems to be the same post in all their country support forums, so I linked the UK one since that one is in english. --Mastacheata (talk) 19:53, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Forums and blogs are not reliable sources. --Me-123567-Me (talk) 21:20, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
They are if it's a press release posted by the company's director, which this is. --Razakel19 (talk) 21:52, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Neutrality - I added template
[edit]I guess this problem is common with articles about companies, but here goes:
The article, to me, reads largely like advertising. Example: in the intro paragraph, "sponsors the free certificate authority Let's Encrypt," - OVH are one of around seven platinum sponsors, but here it sounds (at least to me) like they're sponsoring "Let's Encrypt" alone.
The sections on their products and such I find of similiar (poor / advertising) quality....

P.S. it was nice to hear about LetsEncrypt though :) .

I don't know the rules on this wiki about what to do. Could anyone help me? Wikiwerner (talk) 17:03, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
Problematic article, barely any references
[edit]Wikipedia has quality standards which this article does not meet. Chunks of information on the OVH page are completely unreferenced, and sometimes sound promotional. OVH is a great company, and their business advancements are widely documented, so whoever contributed has been really lazy #bloodyshame.
I will take it upon me to improve this article, but any help is welcomed. Amin (Talk) 13:24, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
