Recent move

Are there any sources that actually uses the term "The New Church"? If not it should be moved back to Nykirken. Rettetast (talk) 22:15, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

That is correct, but we don't literally translate given names if isn't already used in English. I did a short search and I found that English websites reffered to the church as Nykirken. Rettetast (talk) 15:03, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

I agree with Rettetast, we generally do not translate given names unless the subject is generally referred to by an English name in English sources. Inge (talk) 16:58, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

I agree with Rettetast and Inge. Korskirken means "The Cross Church", not "Cross Church". Same with Nykirken. In any case, it's a dangerous practice, as translation is not a precise art. The translation back again will often not be correct. (Krosskyrkja? Nykyrkja?) Let these buildings and institutions keep their proper names! - Hordaland (talk) 10:34, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

P.S. The article says It is located at Nykirkeallmenningen between Strandgaten and Vågen. That should maybe be changed to It is located on The New Church Avenue between The Beach Street and The Bay... ??  ;-) - Hordaland (talk) 10:39, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
