$2048cupcakes Frog Photo Permission Request

[edit]

I have started this talk page so that the biologist and conservationist, SD Biju can grant me permission so that I can use his photo of the Nyctibatrachus robinmoorei, or the Robin Moore's Night Frog Photo on my wikipedia draft which will later become an article. If you are at the talk page Mr. Biju, you can register yourself a Wikipedia account by clicking Create Account on the top of the wikipedia page and there, you will have to fill your username and password. Then you must reply back telling that you grant me permission to use your photo and I need you to post a jpg version of the frog photo on this talk page so that I can use it on my wikipedia draft. To reply back you must click the new section button and then put 2 equal symbols and then a heading about granting me permission and end it with 2 equal signs. If you need help, click the advanced button and there, click the 2nd heading button and that will make it easier to type. In order to upload an image, you need to Wikimedia Commons to upload your photo and in particular, go to the website https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard so that you can follow those instructions to upload the frog photo. Every photo has a file name to it and click the images and media button and there type the filename in the filename section and it will be uploaded on the talk page. When you're done typing, click the "Publish Changes" button below.

  • checkY"is a species of frog in the robust frog family Nyctibatrachidae" - The way this is written, "robust" sounds like it's describing the family rather than being it's common name. Suggest rewriting ("in the family Nyctibatrachidae, know as the robust frogs" or something"
    • Reworded.
  • "The species is endemic to the Western Ghats of India, where it is known only from the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve in the state of Tamil Nadu" - "where it is only known from", where it is only known to be found in? Or where the only specimen was collected from?
    • Same thing really, all the specimens are from that area so it is known only from there.
  • checkY"The species is named after the conservationist and wildlife photographer Robin Moore to honour his contribution to the conservation of amphibians." - "his contributions"? Personally I find it odd to hear contribution as though they only did one thing. More of a personal preference though so up to you.
    • Changed.
  • checkY"The species is one of 34 species in the night frog genus Nyctibatrachus, in the robust frog family Nyctibatrachidae." - Same as above, "night" and "robust" aren't clearly common names, I would suggest rewording to make that clearer so they don't sound like adjectives.
    • Tweaked.
  • checkY"The side of the head is dark greyish-brown, with scattered minute black speckles and prominent white spots, and the upper eyelids are dark greyish-brown." - The sides of the head are
    • Done.
  • checkY"When preserved in 70% ethanol, the upperside turns brown, while the light patch on the snout, stripe between the eyes, and stripe over the back become light brown." - the stripe between the eyes, and the stripe over the back
    • Done.
  • checkY"N. robinmoorei can be distinguished from its congeners by a combination of its small snout–vent length" - Congeners is a pretty niche term, maybe define it quickly or use a more easily understood term?
    • Done.
  • checkY"the discs on third finger and fourth toe being slightly sider than the finger and toe, respectively" - slightly wider?
    • Done.
  • checkY"All known specimens of the frog have been collected from a marshy area with thick ground vegetation, near a stream inside primary forest at an elevation of 1,290 m (4,230 ft)". - Comma not needed
    • Done.
