Capitilization.

[edit]

Just a brief question. I noticed that de Vries is listed as the surname in the beginning of the article but the capitalization changes to De Vries later on. I am not an expert in the Dutch language but I was under the assumption in The Netherland the "de" is to remain lower case. Thank you. OnionConsumer (talk) 20:49, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The "de" is capitalised when the first name isn't present, and is lower case when it is. See Dutch version of the article as an example. SSSB (talk) 05:56, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It depends. When his first name is mentioned it is Nyck de Vries, but when his first name is not mentioned, it becomes De Vries. De is then the first part of his name.[1]Lobo151 (talk) 06:00, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
