[edit]Driver's changelog says that this technology is supported. Why it is not on the list of operating systems? Tpimh (talk) 08:06, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
Criticism
[edit]I took the liberty of editing that passage, since the limitations cited are limitations currently imposed by AMDs driver side implementation of adaptive sync, *not* the VESA standard itself. If and when they are included in Freesync this passage should be updated again.Kehool (talk) 18:59, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
Info/Criticism
[edit]With time all the info on how G-Sync and other VRR method works has been removed from the article, so now if a user come here to understand how it works it will only learn that a special module is present in the monitor. I will move the "Criticism" section into the main one restoring all the technical info that has been removed. Please, ask for citation if needed, reply or open a discussion on the talk page if you think something is wrong or write them more clearly if you can but do not remove informations and please do not reintroduce the confusion between VESA Adaptive-Sync and FreeSync which include many features (overdrive compensation, behaviour outside VRR window, etc.) not part of the VESA standard and proprietary to AMD. The information regarding compatibility seems to be inaccurate, multiple sources (including ones listed at the bottom of this very Wikipedia article https://www.cnet.com/news/nvidia-g-sync-is-a-smooth-move-for-pc-games/) state compatibility with GTX-600 series and up, not 10-series and up as stated in the article. This may have been confused with G-Sync Compatible (enabling of G-Sync on AMD Freesync monitors) which is only supported on 10-series and up, but not actual G-Sync, which supports 600-series cards. //Simon Edit: Made some changes to the Hardware section, it should now be much more accurate, and it now differentiates between the different versions of G-Sync (G-Sync Compatible, G-Sync and G-Sync Ultimate) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.236.69.177 (talk) 13:35, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
People were talking about this technology a year before nvidia released it.
[edit]This deserves a mention in the margins: http://timedport.blogspot.com/ 94.105.125.109 (talk) 06:06, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
