Why not restaurants?
[edit]- Does anyone know of a source that gives details on why this law did not apply to restaurants? This article in the NYT says that "Congress intended to exempt restaurant food from the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990 and left the question of whether to require the posting of information like calorie counts to state and local governments." Call me cynical, but I can't imagine that some sort of restaurant lobbying group (maybe the National Restaurant Association?) wasn't influential in this decision. Anyone know?--Hraefen Talk 19:41, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
