It is the best

[edit]

It is the best selling greatest-hits album by a female group. can anyone get proof of this? Tomba 00:22, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the Spice Girls' greatest hits sold 4 million copies, so... I'm not positive on that, but it's just a guess.

The Spice Girls haven't released a Greatest Hits album and seeing as they have only released two albums, it's probably unlikely.

They've release three albums. Andyroost 19:35, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Standupforlove.jpg

[edit]

Image:Standupforlove.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:35, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The image Image:Check On It US.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Cover image

Just as a note, the cover should be reduced to no more than 300 by 300 pixels. J Milburn (talk) 17:37, 10 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image review

[edit]

One fair use image and one free-use image. I made some minor improvements to both image pages. Image review checks out fine. — Cirt (talk) 04:00, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stability review

[edit]

I reverted what appeared to be old and minor vandalism, removal of some content but otherwise article is stable, no major conflicts on article or talk page. — Cirt (talk) 04:02, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Successful good article nomination

[edit]

I am glad to report that this article nomination for good article status has been promoted. This is how the article, as of November 15, 2014, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: Writing quality is good. The lede intro sect is interesting noting the title "Number 1's" for the album choice was a bit misleading -- later noting the album itself became a "Number 1" on charting.
2. Verifiable?: Well-sourced and well-cited throughout, but I'd recommend for the future adding "archiveurl=" and "archivedate=" for parameters in citation templates to archive links with Internet Archive.
3. Broad in coverage?: Covers major aspects of topic quite well.
4. Neutral point of view?: Presented in a neutral tone throughout, I like that there's even a bit of negative critical commentary assessment in the lede intro sect.
5. Stable? See above, passes here.
6. Images?: See above, passes here.

Overall, a nice GA page. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to have it Good article reassessed. Thank you to all of the editors who worked hard to bring it to this status, and congratulations.— — Cirt (talk) 20:03, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
