[edit]There are lots of alternative possibilities so they ahve been divided into categories. Still to add: universal bases xDNA
What should be done with the table at the bottom??? --Squidonius (talk) 01:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC) Solved.
DAP
[edit]Can someone supply a reference or more information on the "better-than-natural" base diaminopurine (DAP), what organisms use it, and how it facilitates host evasion in the cyanophage S-2L? CharlesHBennett (talk) 13:01, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Better thermostability does not mean better in general: low melting temperature and some flexibility are required for DNA binding protein. --Squidonius (talk) 01:02, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
XNA vs. Nucleic acid analogue?
[edit]Reading both articles, I don't see a clear difference between the two terms Xeno Nucleic Acid and Nucleic acid analogue - having two separate articles makes it sound like they are either two different things or one is a subset of the other. If there isn't a clear difference and they are more or less synonyms, should the two articles be merged?

Proposed merge with Base analog
[edit]Similar content, is already in the nucleic acid analogue page Llightex (talk) 13:43, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
- Agree. I've merged it in and redirected. It it gets too long, the whole of the base analogue page should be split off and moved, however at the moment, it makes sense to have it all together. T.Shafee(Evo&Evo)talk 21:15, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
