[edit]Did Nuala Holloway create this page by any chance? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lynamsk (talk • contribs) 13:40, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
No, various historians did. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.134.168.100 (talk • contribs) 14:59, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Can somebody please delete this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lynamsk (talk • contribs) 19:38, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
This woman was Miss Ireland in 1975 and since then has done a bit of acting and painting. She seems very nice, but I'm not sure she is notable enough to warrant an encyclopedia entry mentioning her TEFL certificate.

Citations needed all over the shop
[edit]CN tags were placed all over the article agianst what is guided. The editor in question then removes citations. Will replace cites and have brought this to the editors attention. Please any input anyone? Murry1975 (talk) 08:42, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
- Citations for the double barrel surname are limited to two and over 6 years old while dozens of cited articles from recent times (as recent as April 2012, [1] The Irish Times) state another name. Even Holloway's own official website doesn't make any reference to this double barrel. There is also no accurate citation for the DOB and has come down to pure speculation based on one article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.40.22.156 (talk) 09:09, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
- "Pure speculation"? The year maybe, the date no its spot on. The name is used, but dont just delete everytime, discuss. Slapping a template on a page without discussion isnt very well, talk, like now. The date stays (if not the year- but try to source), a compromise might be better on the double barrelled name, I would suggest "Nuala Holloway (born 18 December circa 1956)" , and very last line in the lead " Holloway is sometimes refeered to by/as Nuala Holloway-Casey"ref here. Before making any changes from what it reads like now I would wait to see if there was anymore feedback. Thats my two bob worth. Murry1975 (talk) 09:30, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
The needed references
[edit]The majority of unreferenced facts in this article were taken from radio or TV interviews with Ms. Holloway. Are references to TV or radio interviews not allowed to be used as references by Wikipedia rules? One such reference was recently added but subsequently removed by an editor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.255.1.44 (talk) 20:51, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, we cant use references that are copyright violations, the TG4 interview is copyrighted to them, not the uploader onto youtube. Murry1975 (talk) 20:56, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
- That's understandable. Can citations for facts in articles be referenced to TV or radio interviews, without linking to the copyrighted material? E.g. in this case, referencing the information and stating the source (in this case TG4) without linking to it, as is done with books and newspaper references? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.255.1.44 (talk) 21:09, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
- They have to be able to be checked, so unless a recording or transcipt is in the public domain, even behind a paywall, we can not use them. From the project page that looks after sourcing,
- audio, video, and multimedia materials that have been recorded then broadcast, distributed, or archived by a reputable party may also meet the necessary criteria to be considered reliable sources. Like text sources, media sources must be produced by a reliable third party and be properly cited. Additionally, an archived copy of the media must exist. It is convenient, but by no means necessary, for the archived copy to be accessible via the Internet.
- And from WP:LINKVIO,
- if you know or reasonably suspect that an external Web site is carrying a work in violation of the creator's copyright, do not link to that copy of the work.
- I hope this clears it up a bit. Good work getting the refs you have done btw. Murry1975 (talk) 21:20, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for that Murry1975 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.255.1.44 (talk) 21:35, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
