[edit]Is "November" a film? Because i believe it was shot, as the article states, on Mini DV. This is a video not a film. all of the errors should be corrected, including the title. Film is not interchangeable with movie, as Wikipedia so incorrectly uses. Mister peanut 21:21, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
who edits the featured page of the day? i think its extremely poor that wikipedia is useing its page of the day as advertiseing for a sitcom stars vehichial. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.237.101.121 (talk • contribs) 00:45, 20 November 2005
- The article is featured on the Main Page of Wikipedia because users who voted at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/November (film) following its submitting as a featured article candidate believed that it meets the featured article criteria. Wikipedia is not attempting to advertise the film, and has an important neutral point of view policy that all editors should follow, which is what I tried to do when I wrote the bulk of the article. In any case, the excerpt from the article that is currently visible on the Main Page does mention quite clearly that the film was criticised in reviews. Shroom Stamper
[edit]Someone block the shroom stamper guy. He's a major vandal so can someone block him? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.236.114.207 (talk • contribs) 01:18, 20 November 2005
Of all the movies ever, NOVEMBER is the one must-read!
[edit]Wow, and it's being released on DVD in just a couple of weeks! What a coincidence! I can hardly wait for tomorrow's Wikipedia Featured Article all about how to save big bucks on one's car insurance! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.152.235 (talk • contribs) 15:15, 20 November 2005
- As I explained above, this article is featured on Wikipedia's Main Page because users at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/November (film) believed that it meets the featured article criteria. Since the film itself was a commercial failure and its U.S. DVD release is approaching, I can see where you'd get the idea that Wikipedia is trying to advertise the film, but believe me, we're not. Extraordinary Machine 15:44, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
In contrast, I find the featuring of an article on a relatively insignificant film to be spectacular, in the sense that if someone can dedicate themselves this much to developing an article, Wikipedia has renewed hope for the rest of its articles. To anyone who doesn't like recent pop culture being on the main page, all I can say is get your buns in gear and put your nose to the grindstone on non-pop culture articles, so they can be honoured on our front page, instead. -- user:zanimum
It's phenomenally implausible that the timing of the nomination just "happened to happen" in advance of the DVD release.
As most articles on Wikipedia are tended and submitted by interested parties, this is hardly a "spectacular" development. But as a low-cost pitch tactic, it's something other promoters would do well to emulate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.152.235 (talk • contribs) 14:11, 21 November 2005
- As the person who wrote the vast majority of this article, I can assure you that I had no intentions whatsoever of promoting the film in advance of its forthcoming DVD release. I included several quotes from negative reviews in the article, making it clear that critical reception to the film was lukewarm. You are fully entitled to your opinion on this issue, but it might not be heard by many people here. I suggest that you create an account of your own and leave a comment at Wikipedia talk:Featured articles. And remember to sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~), so people know who wrote it and when. Thanks! Extraordinary Machine 21:51, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
Avoid easter egg links
[edit]Hi, "easter egg" links such as 1973 are an inconvenience for readers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.3.252.147 (talk) 14:56, 13 March 2007 (UTC).
Discussion pertaining to non-free image(s) used in article
[edit]A cleanup page has been created for WP:FILMS' spotlight articles. One element that is being checked in ensuring the quality of the articles is the non-free images. Currently, one or more non-free images being used in this article are under discussion to determine if they should be removed from the article for not complying with non-free and fair use requirements. Please comment at the corresponding section within the image cleanup listing. Before contributing the discussion, please first read WP:FILMNFI concerning non-free images. Ideally the discussions pertaining to the spotlight articles will be concluded by the end of June, so please comment soon to ensure there is clear consensus. --Happy editing! Relevant
[edit]"However, it was screened outside the U.S. at the Oslo International Film Festival on November 20, 2004." — This film festival doesn't appear to meet WP:N in any way, and I can't find any source outside its own website to verify this info. Does it even need to be in the article? Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many otters • One bat • One hammer) 21:37, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
