[edit]There is additional material at the EB 1911 at Novatianus if anyone would like to integrate that info. [1] --DanielCD 17:44, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
Article needs improvements
[edit]Near the beginning of the section entitled "Life", there is a paragraph of Pope Cornelius describing how Novatian supposedly was possessed by Satan. This paragraph has no citations, and is in real need of them, considering that Cornelius was an enemy of Novatian (Novatian opposed Cornelius becoming Bishop of Rome, and that was the catalyst of the schism).
Can someone find a source for that paragraph, as well as not rely on Novatian's arch nemesis as a source (at least more than necessary)? --1990'sguy (talk) 21:41, 12 April 2016 (UTC) According to the Catholic Encyclopedia article on Cyprian2601:882:180:3730:78E5:89AB:612E:8577 (talk) 16:43, 5 February 2020 (UTC), Novatus was a presbyter in North Africa who later may have supported Novatian. He is not the same person.
Birth date?
[edit]Birth date is "c. 200" here, but on Italian Wikipedia it's "c. 220". Anyone know which it should be? If you figure it out, it's also c.200 at Wikidata. —Sam Wilson 07:53, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
Priest?
[edit]What's the evidence that he was a priest? 105.12.7.103 (talk) 14:23, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
