Fakna O'Kelly was Sinead's long time manager and he was with her through out the lion and the cobra era.

Prince's Writing This Song

[edit]

Did Prince write this song for Sinead? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:BDCA:ACE0:B495:E70D:E7D6:1B0 (talk) 00:20, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No: In 1985, The Family released their first and only album, the self-titled The Family. "Nothing Compares 2 U" appeared on the album but it was not released as a single, and received little recognition. --Toni am See (talk) 06:10, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced awards claims

[edit]

The following statements in the Legacy section have been tagged as unsourced for two years. I've translocated them here, so they can be incubated until reliable sources can be located for them.

  • In 2004, Rolling Stone placed Sinéad O'Connor's version at number 162 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
  • In a 2006 poll for Channel 5's "Britain's Favourite Break-up Songs", O'Connor's version was voted fifth.
  • VH1 Classic listed O'Connor's version as the second greatest classic love song, behind Al Green's "Let's Stay Together."
  • In 2002, VH1 ranked the song the 18th greatest one-hit wonder.
  • In 2008, VH1 ranked the song the number 1 on "Final Countdown - Top 50 Heartbreakers".
  • On July 4, 2009, VH1 Classic ranked number 12 on "Top 20 Flashback from the 90s".

Infobox

[edit]

If this song was originally released by The Family, then how come the lead infobox is for Sinead O'Connor's version? Asking because on other songs better known for their covers, the covers are included as a subsection rather than the lead. (I'm new here so I might not know how this all works) ForeverStamp (talk) 03:22, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Key The Song Is In

[edit]

Is there a particular reason that the key of the song is included for O'Connor's version? If so, then shouldn't the key of the original version be included as well? If there's no particular reason that this info is included, I suggest it be removed. Nycjtw (talk) 01:14, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
