Discord

[edit]

For literally the many dozenth time, I came to Wikipedia to answer a single, and one of the most fundamental possible, questions about a topic, which any introductory text on the topic would treat, and as usual it fails, and doesn't even do that.

I wanted to know what municipality Accord, Mass. is in. On entering 'Accord', it redirects to the present article, which then proceeds cheerfully not to mention it. So once again, off I go to get the answer elsewhere.

So now we have no idea whether 'Accord' has anything to do with Norwell, Mass., and whether the redirect is bogus. Who would create a redirect without first ensuring the target article mentions the redirected topic, and if not, writing at least 1 or 2 placeholder sentences at least to verify that Accord is in Norwell? Your average Homo wikipediensis, I suppose. Whose brain capacity is almost that of a modern human's.

And you wonder why serious writers eschew citing Wikipedia. (I use 'eschew' to impress everyone that I'm a serious writer, don'tcha know.)

Zildjian

[edit]

Should it be mentioned that Zildjian, the biggest cymbal company in the world, inventing it 400 years ago in Constantinople is based in Norwell? The Maheen Man (talk) 04:04, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
