Is it just me, or does it seem awfully... redundant... to say
The Norton Simon Museum ... is currently named in honor of Norton Simon, the late head of Norton Simon Inc.
Particularly when there are no articles about Norton Simon or Norton Simon Inc.
Oh, well, I can always go to the Norton Simon Museum Official Website.
(Yes, yes, yes... if I really cared about it I could write the article). Dpbsmith 01:41, 2 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Article improvement
More pictures, and larger. What there is doesn't seem to convey an overall sense of the museum.
Additional discussion about types of events, films would be appropriate. In this case, it wouldn't be self-promotion, because with the limited information that's there currently, it's difficult to discern, for example, whether the museum hosts ballet or hip-hop.
In general, article could be twice as long, and still be interesting and informative. Piano non troppo (talk) 07:50, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Expanded
- Agree did not give sense of museum, and expanded sections, content, and wikilinks. Know museum well personally for 40 years.
- Don't know how to work with photos, agree need enlargement and a few more.
- On "Norton Simon' repeating; my experience living in L.A. is that it's fine and (warning; opinion) fits his reputation and reported ego (R.I.P.). His sister was Marsha Weisman, a major modern art collector based here and instrumental in the founding of MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) in downtown L.A. - And no mention of the fact that it is the most irritating museum on earth, with glass in front of every picture. Guess they get a break on insurance that way, but you might as well view the art online as go to the museum. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.215.115.31 (talk) 18:27, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
