- Support all: Proper capitalization. –CWenger (talk) 01:28, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- Support based on WP:CAPS#Organisms, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (fauna)#Capitalisation of common names of species, and Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Animals, plants, and other organisms. - Station1 (talk) 06:40, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose: I prefer the status quo, as they are all proper names. In the mean time, I have moved Dorothys' Slender Opossum to Dorothy's Slender Opossum, as the apostrophe was in the wrong place. If moved again it should be to Dorothy's slender opossum. Moonraker2 (talk) 20:35, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Fixed RM. — kwami (talk) 22:12, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Support, based on the conventions cited by Station1, above. I've had to deal with issues with this inappropriate capitalisation on conservation articles I work on. Rennell435 (talk) 13:43, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's time to do this, given that there's only one objection here, and no sign at the Tree of Life talk page that people consider opossums subject to different rules than ordinary animal species. Any reason not to close and proceed with the moves?--Kotniski (talk) 16:25, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- Also note that two nearly identical other move requests were initiated at the same time: Talk:Derby's Woolly Opossum#Requested move and Talk:Virginia Opossum#Requested move. I'm not sure why it wasn't all one rm. Both of the others were closed as move. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 17:13, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
