Defunct

The team is clearly defunct, unfortunately there are no sources verifying this or explaining what happened. Per verifiability we have to stick with what the sources say, and the most recent source, this, specifically says that the Eagles players would be joining the Slayers and there were plans to reorganize the team as the Alexandria Storm. We can update the information once new announcements are available, but if there's no way to verify the information, it should not be in Wikipedia.--Cúchullain t/c 12:14, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

An article will be posted today on the eagles website. I own the club and what you're putting on the Wik page is wrong and insulting. The club was never merged, it was folded, and the majority of the team will be playing 7s in 2011 and beyond. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.57.98.147 (talk) 12:42, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Look, I'm trying to stick to what the available sources say, which is Wikipedia policy. Once your release comes out I'm sure we can clear it up. But please don't remove the sources that are already there. I'm sorry if you find it insulting, but everything I've written is based off the releases or other sources.--Cúchullain t/c 12:47, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Now you have your source, www.fairfaxeagles.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.57.98.147 (talk) 13:56, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Excellent! Okay, I'm going to go ahead and add the material in and make sure it's correctly formatted. I'm also going to format the prose correctly and restore some of the citations to third-party sources you removed (material from reliable, third party sources is always considered superior to primary sources). For what it's worth, Danny Hanson, a former Eagles coach, confirmed for me that the USARL press release was somewhat wrong on the "Alexandria Storm".[1] But he says he's dropping the Storm idea, as he and other players have signed on with the Slayers.--Cúchullain t/c 14:13, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

That's cool. I knew he was going to the slayers, and there are a couple (maybe 4) players that will follow. As a club though, we did not merge. That would never happen. I am the president of the club, and the eagles were my baby. This is why it's important to me that the facts are posted correctly. I appreciate your diligence.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.253.155.195 (talkcontribs)

I totally understand. My only goal here is to get the facts straight as they appear in the sources. This is why it's important for teams to get their information out. I've included your new announcement and cleaned up the formatting and writing per Wikipedia guidelines. If you have any other sources available (media coverage, your own announcements, etc.), we can include that too.--Cúchullain t/c 15:57, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
