The company was founded in September of 1995 - not in 1996: Mark Sprague — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.76.253.55 (talk) 19:49, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
correction
[edit]Hi Not a Tech Guy. The folders were to the left of the search result. You did not have to click on a folder to see the search results. The folders could be used to refine a search by subject, but they were strictly value add. You appear to have confused Northern Light with another search engine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.229.75.29 (talk) 18:08, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
bad article
[edit]I'm not a tech guy, so maybe I am wrong, but iirc, the consumer side of the northern light search engine was insanely stupid: it returned hits in folders, 10 hits/folder, so instead of seeing list of hits on your screen, you saw alist of folders, F1, F2 . . and to see the hits you had to click on each folder, one by one their slogan was something like "the web in folders, as it should be" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.245.17.105 (talk) 16:00, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
