Fair use rationale for Image:Northyorkastros.gif

[edit]

Image:Northyorkastros.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

When you search North York Astros on google what shows up on the right side for wiki is "Astros Vasas FC". It is no longer called that. Can someone please change it to The North York Astros.

Thanks -- Kristiner Thomas Web Developer & Graphics Specialist North York Astros Soccer Club

What appears on the right side of the page when you do a Google search is called a Knowledge Graph, which is created by Google, not by Wikipedia. What is confusion is that some (emphasis on "some") elements of the Knowledge Graph are pulled form Wikipedia, and labeled as such, but others come from different sources, whose origin is often not identified. Because Wikipedia is often the only source listed, many people understandably assume either that all the information is provided by Wikipedia, or that the Knowledge Graphs itself is created by Wikipedia.
In the lower right of the Knowledge Graph, there is the word "feedback". Click on that, and you will have the opportunity to send feedback about items that are incorrect. In my experience, that often results in a correction.--S Philbrick(Talk) 12:33, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I reported it to Google. If you do the same, it will help cause a correction.--S Philbrick(Talk) 15:12, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
