This is a quick fail. When this was delisted as part of sweeps in 2009, Talk:North Carolina/GA1, it was mentioned that this article needs more sources. This remains the case. There are many unreferenced paragraphs in this article. The entire "Early through mid-20th century" section is unreferenced. I could go through and add {{cn}} tags, but instead I'll add the orange needs sources tag at the top.

The "Flora and fauna" and "Major rivers" sections are empty but for the "further information" links, though the sections give no information. The delisting also notes the use of WP:IG, and the galleries in "Colonial period", "Colleges and universities", and "Sports" should be removed. I haven't reviewed the text closely, but lines like Also see this list of museums in North Carolina. and Also, see the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. should not appear in prose. Glancing around, I see unencyclopedic language and WP:PUFFERY like North Carolina boasts a large number of noteworthy jazz musicians. I see the word "famous" in prose a few times, that is a violation of MOS:PUFFERY.

The listing of religious higher education institutions in the religion section could lead to duplication with a fully fleshed out "Colleges and universities" section, though I'm not sure off the top of my head a good solution for that. The "Music" section lacks cohesion; it's essentially a bunch of one-sentence mentions of various famous artists. I don't think Pink Floyd taking half of its name from a N.C. artist merits inclusion on this page; Floyd Council may or may not be important enough to include.

I think the problems here are too great to put this on hold. Add sources throughout and address those other issues before renominating. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:29, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
