Confusing lead
[edit]The lead is confusing as it doesn't state what happened after 1955, when NWFP was dissolved. It says "it" was named Khyber-Pakhtunkwa in 2010. What happened in between?
Secondly, the difference between the Federally administered tribal areas and the NWFP also needs to be explained. The maps show exchange of areas between FATA and NWFP. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 21:30, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
- You are correct. This article does not work as NWFP was Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa plus FATA plus Northern Areas. The current structure will make that very messy. It needs to be separated (Partition!) and moved to:
- NWFP (1901-1947)
- and
- NWFP (1947-1955)

- Frankly, I don't see any grounds for multiple articles. The current article is being cut off at 1955, presumably due to the formation of the 'One Unit' and being picked up again in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa article. How is it different from Punjab, Pakistan or Sindh, which also went through similar processes? As for the tribal areas, it is not clear that they were under any particular control of the NWFP administation even under the British rule. So I don't think that is a big factor. It is natural for areas to be merged or separated in the lifeline of a province. We don't create separate articles for each such event. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:26, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: page moved. TonyBallioni (talk) 05:50, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
North-West Frontier Province (1901–2010) → North-West Frontier Province – This is the only page titled "North-West Frontier Province". Hence there is no need for any further qualification. The current disambiguation page at North-West Frontier Province can be safely removed. Kautilya3 (talk) 13:29, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

Page scope
[edit]Now that the myriads of pages regarding the NWFP have been reduced to just two: this page and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, I propose that the latter should be the main page for the region, and this page should be devoted purely to the internal administration aspects of the province between 1901 and 2010. We do not want to duplicate the History, Demography and all other aspects of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:21, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
