The result of the move request was: No consensus – A move to Norrie will not occur unless there is a showing that this Norrie is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, decisive enough to allow the current Norrie page to be displaced to Norrie (disambiguation). It is not even clear that Norrie is the WP:COMMONNAME for the article subject; at least nobody in the discussion has tried to establish that as a fact. ('Norrie May-Welby' could be a lighthearted pseudonym and still be the common name by which they are known. Whether it's their legal name is not usually decisive, per WP:OFFICIAL). An editor named User:Spansexual has said they are the article subject; they say that they definitely prefer 'Norrie May-Welby' to 'Norrie (activist)'. In justifying their choice, they say "Nobody should be stuck with a job description for life". EdJohnston (talk) 03:52, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Norrie May-Welby → ? – It's fairly easily established that this person is simply named Norrie, and does not have a surname any longer. However, Norrie is already a dab page so we can't move it there, and nothing really springs to mind as an alternative so we should probably discuss what it should be titled. Oppose move. I see no indication that Norrie objects to the use of the name "May-Welby". It is, apparently, a lighthearted pseudonym that Norrie came up with ("I only have one legal name" explains Norrie in the feature, "but a lot of people can’t get their heads around that so I made up the name Norrie May-Welby. It’s a joke, may-well be, yeah?"[1]). Per WP:COMMONNAME, the article title does not not need to reflect a person's "legal" or "official" name. I wouldn't have a problem moving the article to just "Norrie" if it was available, but since it isn't, keeping it where it is seems like the best option. Hmm. User:Spansexual: I'd like to ask if you could live with the article as it is now, under the current title "Norrie May-Welby". The article currently makes it clear that "May-Welby" is a pseudonym and primarily uses "Norrie", not "May-Welby".
The title Norrie (activist) would probably be the best alternative, but I don't think it's as good a title per our article title and disambiguation guidelines. They say that non-parenthetical disambiguation is somewhat preferred, and that we're supposed to try and anticipate what readers will type into the search bar. I think a reader would be more likely to type in "Norrie May-Welby" than "Norrie (activist)".
(There is one other option that I see, though I'm not sure if anyone else would consider it a serious possibility: moving this article to Norrie and the disambiguation page to Norrie (disambiguation). The disambiguation page doesn't list anyone else whose full name is "Norrie", after all, just a lot of people who have Norrie as their last name or their first name.) WanderingWanda (talk) 01:45, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would also be ok with this given the above objections, I don't have a strong feeling about what the page is called, just that it probably shouldn't be at the current title. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:53, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose replacing DAB page with this article. This is not the primary topic for "Norrie", per In ictu oculi. I don't have much of an opinion on what this is called, but "Norrie (activist)" is fine. -Crossroads- (talk) 03:23, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is one confusing paragraph! The pronouns are all over the place. From what I can gather, Norrie has an unnamed "friend" of unspecified sex. The final sentence is a doozy! There are four instances of "they/their" — what in the world they might refer to is anyone's guess! Sometimes the UN, sometimes Norrie, sometimes both Norrie and her "friend". I wouldn't know where to begin parsing it. Elizium23 (talk) 20:37, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There is some poor writing there. I would guess checking the sources could help sort it out. In particular "though they declined" is completely mysterious to me, I can't tell who declined what to whom. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:12, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
