Is he German immigrant? --Sheynhertz-Unbayg 08:49, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

He was born in New Jersey. His mother and father were also both born in New Jersey, according to the 1930 Federal Census. - Nunh-huh 09:19, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
And yet Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, his younger sister, was born in Germany (a part that is now in Poland) and was 2 years old when he went to fight the Germans in World War I. As far as I can tell from the two articles, he lived his whole life in the U.S. and she has lived her whole life in Europe. Considering he was 20 years older, one wonders how well they really knew each other. Angr (talk) 22:34, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The whole Elisabeth Schwarzkopf was Stormin'Norman's uncle theme is collapsing pretty spectacularly, isn't it?

Intro paragraph

[edit]

The intro paragraph indicates that he is well-known as the father of General Schwarzkopf. Notably, nowhere else in the article is his son even mentioned and the man was deceased well before his son became well-known. The man's claim to any public notoriety was his involvement in the Lindberg case. The intro paragraph originally read:

"Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf (August 28, 1895 – November 25, 1958) was the first superintendent of the New Jersey State Police. He is best known for his involvement in the Lindbergh kidnapping case and for being the father of General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, the commander of all coalition forces for Operation Desert Shield/Storm."

I rewrote it to close the second sentence after reference to the Lindbergh case and began a third sentence with the incidental side note that "He was the father of ..."Irish Melkite (talk) 13:47, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

At the moment Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. at Find a Grave. appears in this section. That website shows 2 gravstones: an older stone with his name in full, a newer stone with H. NORMAN SCHWARZKOPF. Clicking Edit leads to "* Assuming I would be able to change Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. at Find a Grave. to Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. H. Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. at Find a Grave. I clicked Edit but that led to Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. at Find a Grave; I don't understand why both Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. and Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. appear in the external link or how to enter H. before Norman.
