Confusion with multiple Norman MacLeods
[edit]There were three Norman MacLeods (1745-1824) Norman MacLeod Caraid nan Gaidheal (1783-1862) Norman MacLeod (Barony and author of 'Courage, brother do not stumble' 1812-72)
The last two seem to have been mixed up and the two articles, rather than merging, need clarifying with material being checked as to which Norman MacLeod it relates to. Morvern A Highland Parish by Norman MacLeod (Barony)edited by Iain Thornber is helpful in sifting the material —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.150.172.165 (talk) 09:43, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- I just noticed this too. The pictures are screwed up too, with the same pic being used for two different people. I tried to clean things up a bit, now every 'Norman Macleod' has a link to the Norman Macleod disambiguation page. I renamed the "Norman Macleod DD (The Highlanders' Friend)" to Norman Macleod (Caraid nan Gaidheal), the three seem to have all been DDs., and i think that it was causing some confusion.--Celtus (talk) 07:42, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Suggestions
[edit]I'm afraid that I know too little about the topic to undertake these myself; but I'd like to call the attention of more qualified editors to some areas in which the article could be improved.
- There is a reference to "the troubles in the Scottish Church" and to "the non-intrusion controversy". A brief explanation of these in the article, and a Wikilink for the latter, would make things much clearer to those of us who know little of Scottish ecclesiastical history.
- There is a reference to "his relations with the queen and the royal family", but it's never stated what these unusual relations are.
I'm sorry to be binding up heavy loads for others to carry, but this is a situation that calls for an editor who knows something about the subject—not someone who's coming to Macleod by way of Good Words by way of Anthony Trollope...
