The major paragraph (describing her work) is written like a press release and does not cite sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.251.43.16 (talk) 19:15, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have done some indicating that her opinions are hers in the article, now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.200.116 (talk) 10:02, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well I'm not connected with the contributor of 23NOV2010, but I was also struck by the article's lack of sources, aside from one New York Times article. Especially given the repeated use of highly technical scientific terms describing unique functions of different areas of the brain. It also seems kind of awkward to begin with some basic biographical information about Dr Volkow and then without any transition or segue, suddenly launch into a sophisticated discussion of her views on drug addiction. Since this comment was made, this section has been adequately referenced. Hildabast (talk) 14:39, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

did she write this article herself ?

[edit]

this lady is surrounded by SERIOUS controversies, because she is involved in "the war against drugs" that puts marijuana and cocaine users in prison. the anti-drug claims made by her organization NIDA often seem to be ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.130.168.139 (talk) 21:52, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This entry doesn't have any peer-reviewed articles, other than one from 1988. I've read several of her articles in NEJM, which I think explain her ideas very well (and take stronger positions than some of these sources). I don't mind newspaper articles and TV, but I think this overdoes it.--Nbauman (talk) 20:32, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography

[edit]

I have commenced a Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue.
