This is a beautiful song! --Ian911299

When I'm a good dog they sometimes throw me a bone

[edit]

This line is sung in Nobody Home, and I think it sounds like a reference to Animals. Should this be mentioned in the article? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.100.0.150 (talk) 18:31, 28 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Lyric meaning

[edit]

What exactly do they mean by "And I've got the inevitable pinhole burns"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.156.159.140 (talk) 18:32, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It means holes caused by bits of smouldering tobacco or dope falling from a joint and burning holes in his shirt!NH78.147.110.3 (talk) 21:16, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gohill's boots

[edit]

I think this is a reference to Syd Barrett and a pair of fashionable, modern boots he bought from a London shop named Gohill's. I am going to change the lyrics on the page, but let me know if I am mistaken. Branciforte3241 (talk) 20:06, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe Roger Waters talks about that in one of the videos. Stating that when they met with Syd many years after he went away on holiday he was wearing a pair of Gohill's boots held together with elastic bands. An interesting web site (SongMeanings [1]) has some interesting posts and interpretations as to what the lyrics mean. Several point out that 'Pink' is more or less in an insane asylum and only has the barest necessities (i.e., no shoe laces so elastic bands to keep his shoes on) and many lyrics relate back to Syd Barrett. Be careful about adding speculation from a site that is not recognized as an authority. Claims that The Wall is explicitly about Syd have been challenged and shot down in the past (and I don't mean on Wikipedia particularily). --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 15:40, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
