"Based on the Adrian Finkelstein novel"

[edit]

What novel? MARILYN MONROE RETURNS: The Healing of a Soul Paperback – 20 Sep 2007 by Adrian Finklestain is non-fiction. No sign on fr.wp page that it is related. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:34, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is a fiction book, actually. The book tells the story of a Canadian singer named Sherria Lea Laird and her similarities with Monroe, through a concept of reincarnation. Laird reflects on a lifetime being Marilyn Monroe. The film, on the other hand, tells the death of an aspiring model who thought she was the reincarnation of Monroe. (Also, an info which isn't included on fr.wp does not mean it is false.) Sebastian James (talk) 12:48, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well how did it get into the English article? I can't find any French source for this; Gérald Hustache-Mathieu, Juliette Sales are the only credited French writers. Somehow an imdb editor has added Finkelstein but imdb isn't a reliable source. In ictu oculi (talk) 15:23, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
BFI have no trace of Finkelstein in the screenplay In ictu oculi (talk) 15:25, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't find the exact source that I had found earlier (probably a dead link now), but this statement on Finkelstein's own blog may be enough. (Finkelstein also appears to have an uncredited role in the film according to IMDb, but IMDb is not a reliable source so the film has to be watched again.)
