Quality and tone
[edit]But no seriously how is the page even close to acceptable? - user:lugnut64
Remove this, it's silly, it's Movember. The end. this article can be replaced by a facebook event. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.38.137.179 (talk) 15:55, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
It's also a globally known event, and is fundamentally different from Movember.. maybe the page should be cited better and written a little better as well. 24.215.48.159 (talk) 15:57, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- I agree that it should stay but it def needs some more sources/articles about it. How does it create awareness of prostate cancer? Are there any charities that back it?Millertime246 (talk) 16:15, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
Movember involves only growing a mustache. Beards and goatees are not permitted in Movember. No-Shave November is no shaving, resulting in full beard/mustache. The cause is the same, but the rules are different, thus a different title. The article needs to be better written and contain more substance to stay. Jasen (talk) 19:29, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
Agree- this sentence isn't sourced and it not valid on the NSN Wiki page: "This event is usually participated in for awareness of prostate cancer." Movember is the moustache growing (not facial hair contest) charity event that raises funds for prostate cancer: [1]. No Shave November has no verifiable unifying cause. Why is Wiki allowing this bad information to linger? LP1230 (talk) 20:04, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Hello,
My name is Andrew Hill - one of the Co-Founders of the No-Shave November campaign found here: www.no-shavenovember.com or www.facebook.com/noshavenov . I would like to edit this page to reflect not only our campaign, but similar campaigns that promote the same mission. Movember, the page that both 'no shave november' and 'no-shave november' search terms redirect to, has nothing to do with No-Shave November. While they're similar in that they raise money for various cancer organizations, they're two separate entities. Movember is a global movement that is a declared 501c3 non-profit copany which has employees and events all around the globe. No-Shave November is merely an act that has provided an incentive for participation, similar to a 5k run or a polar plunge. I'm a bit upset because Movember has spent donation money towards isolating our campaign and others doing things such as paying Google Adwords to promote their page as the top hit on Google, despite its irrelevance. I believe they have lost scope of what this is all about. I've also been flagged for not being the owner of the No-Shave November media files (logo pictures) that I have uploaded along with the page. This has becoming increasingly difficult.
You can contact either my email (anhill@no-shavenovember.com) or the No-Shave support email (support@no-shavenovember.com) if you wish to prove my identity. In addition, here is a neat article that was featured on Business Insider about our campaign http://www.businessinsider.com/no-shave-november-story-2013-11 .
I appreciate the time you took to review my request.
Thank you,
Andrew Hill
