Entries on individual city council votes

User HDR42USC1983 has been repeatedly adding information on city council votes Raman took that did not affect the outcome. These entries would seem to violate WP:MILL - on most pages of politicians I edit, I and other users remove exhaustive summaries of every vote taken. Councilpeople take hundreds of votes a year; I would suggest instead adding a summary of Raman's positions on the issues, and will do so when I next have a chance. User CaliforniaThrasher is inaccurately applying WP:MILL to this situation. WP:MILL defines run-of-the-mill as something that is "a common, everyday, ordinary item that does not stand out from the rest." Not only are the votes provided clearly not an "exhaustive summary of every vote taken" as the user suggests, but they have been selected and added to the article precisely because they are the type of notable event that WP:MILL distinguishes from that which is run-of-the-mill. As has been indicated in earlier comments associated with the edits to the article, the issues at the center of the highlighted votes are of particular significance-- both in terms of their newsworthiness, and in terms of their centrality to this individual's identity and story. Indeed, the rest of this article makes several references to this individual's background, platform, and policy goals all pertaining to the topics addressed by these votes. It would be very odd if these issues are sufficiently notable when they are asserted as aspirations and goals, but then suddenly become insignificant and run-of-the-mill once the opportunity to take legislative action on them arises. That can't be right. Finally, that Raman voted in the minority is certainly no reason to consider the vote less meaningful in the context of this person's biography. In fact, it cuts exactly the other way: on an issue of such import and centrality to the individual, dissenting in these votes raises their significance as biographical artifacts of the tenure of this politician. I don't agree with your edits, but I will not revert them further to avoid edit warring. However, I'm truly confused: You keep referring to "this individual's identity and story" without citing what you mean. I can find no reference on this page to her "story" regarding bike theft. Raman does have a history with homelessness, however, and has spoken about 41.18 on other occasions. I am attempting a compromise edit: removing the bike theft vote (which I believe is truly non-notable here) and instead adding more context to the 41.18 vote. I think you are misunderstanding the bike theft vote and ordinance, which was largely about homeless encampments and which was rejected by the council member- according to her public statements- because of the ordinance's expected impact on homeless individuals. So to the extent you understand the relevance of 41.18, that should clear up confusion about the relevance of the bicycle ordinance issue. HDR42USC1983 (talk) 14:43, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

DSA LA Censure

I saw that my edit adding in DSA LA's censure of Nithya Raman was removed for reliable sources. Was the issue that I linked the PDF itself, instead of their website? Or is it something else.
