Australian edition
[edit]I added an infobox to the page, however all of the details - including the cover, publisher, number of pages and possibly ISBN (not sure) - are based on the Australian Allen & Unwin edition. Since the book is American, I was wondering whether someone might be able to re-fill in the details from the American edition? Thanks. 97198 talk•contribs 07:21, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I could edit the information, as I have the information, but I do not know the approach that I should take when editing this. Should I add the information for the US version above the austrailian version, or start the infobox over and just contain the US version information? Anarchy 228 (talk) 14:09, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Literary Significance and Criticism?
[edit]This is a misnomer. If anything the book is insignificant. Neither is it "Literary"; Picoult does not write Literature. The section title needs to be changed. "Reception" is a much more appropriate term.-FM (talk) 19:33, 27 February 2008 (UTC)-FM (talk) 21:13, 27 February 2008 (UTC)FM
Confusing opening
[edit]I'm confused -- "It was her first book to debut at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list." Has she had a second (third, fourth...) book to debut in that spot? Already? Or is that just a clumsy way to say "It debuted at #1 etc" ? Or is it simply extreme, and npov, optimism?
"It was her first book to debut at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list." is a fact. No more or less. I don't know when this was asked, but as yet there is at least a second book to debut at #1: Handle with care (2009). Change of Heart (2008) also reached #1, but I'm not sure if it was the debut or not. A black eyed (talk) 14:56, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
something missing
[edit]"Reception
In the wake of the Virginia Tech massacre, Picoult made a statement on her website, concerning the shooting:"
And it ends there. What statement? And what does her statement have to do with the novel's reception? And what court place does Peter's trials take place?

- I could not find the original statement from Jodi's website, but I did find a website quoting the statement that she posted on her website.
From: http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/printed-books/nineteen-minutes-jodi-picoult/1136794/
In wake of the shooting, Jodi Picoult released this statement on her website.
"As a parent, my deepest sympathy goes out to the victims and families of the Virginia Tech community. Although shootings on college campuses are often motivated by different factors than the ones I researched for high school shootings in Nineteen Minutes, any time something like this happens it is tragic and raises questions. However, the one we should be asking right now is: How can we help this community heal?"

Incomplete sentence?
[edit]" Rocky Mountain News agreed, stating that while the beginning shooting scene makes it 'painfully clear who the victims and killer are. As the novel unfolds, Picoult succeeds in lifting those assumptions up for scrutiny, until villains and victims seem to blend into a motley jumble of alliances and rejection.'" The phrase "that while . . . " needs a contrast. Is the following sentences meant to be that contrast -- or is something missing? 2605:A601:F300:700:0:0:0:1349 (talk) 20:48, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
School district's criteria
[edit]three criteria are listed, but it is not clear if these must all be met or just one. 2605:A601:F300:700:0:0:0:1349 (talk) 20:50, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
