Close paraphrasing

[edit]

This is close paraphrasing of the content taken from the Rutgers University's biography, where phrases/portions of sentences in the Career section:

  • "In the late 1960s, Yalter took part in the French counterculture and revolutionary movements"
  • "Turkish migrant workers and their conditions, and other sociopolitical issues."
  • "on Turkish immigrants, specifically nomads living around Niğde, called A Nomad’s Tent: A Study of Private, Public, and Feminine Spaces."
  • "Yalter was a member of Collectif Femmes/Art, a group of women artists in Paris from 1976 to 1980"
  • " to create a piece of performance art in which she acted out everyday life in a harem."

There his also CP in the Later career section. Please see Wikipedia:close paraphrasing for tips on rewording content so that it's not in the author's voice, same order of words, etc.

Sometimes it's a little tricky when it's just restatement of facts, which can only be reworded so many ways, but there are still some opportunities to reword so it's a little further from the cited source wording. For instance, for the 4th bullet: "Between 1976 and 1980, Yalter as a member of the women artist's organization, Collectif Femmes/Art, in Paris. In other cases, where the sentences are conceptual, it is better to reword in your own words. Thanks!--CaroleHenson (talk) 18:07, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

commented out close paraphrasing / copy vio, per discussion at User:CaroleHenson#reply. To be safe, since much of the content seems to be an issue, commenting most of it out.--CaroleHenson (talk) 01:18, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, When I was editing your page i found only one grammar mistake. You did a great jobs talking 'like wikipedia' and I can tell you really understood how to use Wikipedia. I added a info box to your page as another quick source of vital information about your artist. If you are looking to add more information, I would suggest to talk about some of the artist's works.. you have so many listed and none are described. Finally i added an image in the info box just to add something more to your page. The image is the main image for wikipedias WACK! page. I saw that your artist was involved in this, you can remove the image if you do not think it is relevant enough. Mcutry (talk) 03:53, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
