This article has been refused for creation several times and deleted as well on several occasions. I have created the article because it is clear that the topic can no longer be redirected to the 2021 London mayoral election following Omilana's candidacy in the 2024 UK General Election and wide media coverage. I think it is clear the subject has now achieved the general notability guideline. However, I am happy to hear any argument to the contrary. I also thought that the draft which was provided for his draft article was poorly sourced, too extensive (almost exhaustively so), and not concise in discussing the subject. I therefore created a more concise draft which is now the article body.Spiralwidget (talk) 20:12, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There were several edits recently talking about how Omilana is the son of a Nigerian prince. I would like to open this discussion location to talk about whether this should be included in the article. Spiralwidget (talk) 10:58, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
am not sure if this has been addressed on reddit before but I think Niko's dad may be an ex-Nigerian Prince.
Here's my reasoning:
I came across a comment posted on one of Niko's insta post by a lady called Keisha Omilana- she was addressing him as her stepson, to which Niko responded with love (heart emojis i think- can't remember properly). I then went onto her insta page and kept scrolling through. Link of her insta page here: https://www.instagram.com/keishaomilana/?hl=en
If you scroll down enough, you will see that she has a couple of pics of her and her family with Niko- In one post, they are celebrating Niko's 1mil subscribers and she has written a post about how her and 'daddy' brought him his ipad or something when he first started off (Niko is not physically in this video). In another post, it is a picture taken during Christmas time. In the picture, there is Keisha, her husband, their two kids and Niko and his two sisters (this pic looks like it was taken a couple of years ago as Niko looks younger). Keisha is a model, and her husband, addressed as 'Daddy', was a Nigerian Prince, who renounced his position. How do I know this?.... I have seen Keisha before in a Stacey Dooley documentary- this follows her daughter, Dior's life as a child model (Link here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEPVPKwJPv4) . Anyways, in this documentary, it states that Prince Kunle came to study in the UK aged 24, and created a successful business in the late 90's. Kunle met Keisha in 2004 in New York (Keisha is from Cali- She is African American) So it is possible that Kunle was in a relationship before this as Niko was born in '98 (I think).
Anyways, like I said, apologies if this has been addressed before, however, I have been curious for some time and thought I would posit this to my fellow redditors. It cannot be a running joke, as there are legit pictures of her and Niko from a few years ago in events that are family oriented. For example, Christmas would be a family celebration and why would Niko's sisters also be in the pic if that was not the case.
need a secondary source for this to be added. also if niko never mentioned it in his socials, then he would've most likely preferred it to be private. not everything needs to be added, especially regarding privacy WP:PRIVACY. Http iosue (talk) 18:47, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello.
I was the one who did the edits that were flagged as vandalism. Niko is a Yoruba prince by right of descent... His father didn't renounce the throne though, here in Yorubaland, we operate a collegial system for our chieftaincy succession. As long as Prince Kunle is a son of Arigbabuowo in good standing, he is a prince and so is Niko.
As for it being private, his step-mother Keisha Omilana is one of the world's most prominent Black royals. I don't think that privacy is a factor in this, because Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex is still spoken of as a prince regardless of his wishes for privacy.
Perhaps we could try to find more credible sources, but I support putting the information in.
