Alan Haven or Johnny Gregory?
[edit]Is there evidence that the version of Image used on British prints is by Alan Haven? There has been a suggestion that it is yet another British arrangement by Johnny Gregory which is used (there is a post about it on IMDB), and having just watched a broadcast of the film, I did think that the tune sounded more downbeat and less “lush” than the Haven version I have heard from the 45 r.p.m. record version of it I have heard. It could be the single is simply a different iteration by Haven, but it does seem to open the possibility that it is a different artist (perhaps doing a “sound alike” arrangement for budgetary reasons where getting permission to use the Haven one might have been more expensive). Title
[edit]The initial UK release was as The Night Caller, so really the title of the article should reflect that. (Releases on DVD by Renown under that title, and listed as such in BFI catalog and BBFC database)2604:6000:6D41:D700:C98E:2016:85AE:40E8 (talk) 20:53, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
Also, I don't think quoting from a book subtitled "a guide to sleazy, mindless movies" is particularly worthy of including under "reception," especially when said book was written forty years after the film's release. Contemporary reviews, maybe? Or would that involve effort? 2604:6000:6D41:D700:C98E:2016:85AE:40E8 (talk) 21:00, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
