Company Name
The name of the company is properly called "ACNielsen" with no periods or spaces. On 1-DEC-2004, the article was merged into another article at "A. C. Nielsen". The merge was made the wrong direction, because the periods and spaces are incorrect in the name. Am now requesting a speedy deletion of the redirect of "ACNielsen" so that the article at "A. C. Nielsen" may be moved here. Kevyn 00:51, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Paragraph on Melbourne CATI closure
The following paragraph was contributed by anonymous editor 60.224.144.251 in August 2005:
- In 2005, ACNielsen closed one of its most successful CATI rooms in Melbourne, Australia in favour of a New Zealand operating room. This was a result of poor globalisation policy made by the Australian government and unnecessary profit-margin cuts made by the company itself. ACNielsen is yet to prove any actual profit increase nor is it to rectify its mistake.
This seems to project a strong POV. I have deleted it, but I would be happy for us to discuss it in an NPOV way, either by getting rid of the more value-laden words (such as successful, poor, unnecessary, mistake) or by discussing external coverage of the closure and any controversy around it. -- Avenue 22:52, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject class rating
This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 14:20, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Promotional Piece
This seems to be largely a self-promotion Chamber of Commerce piece, much of it straight off their web site press release. As was pointed out above, the PoV shouldn't be biased in either direction. Unfortunately, though, there isn't a lot of independent information out there about Nielsen.
It's not appropriate for the article page, but this thread gives some insight from subjects' viewpoints: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=38640
Also, referring to a comment above, there seems to be a disconnect in explaining the difference between the Nielsen and ACNielsen pages, which might be expected since some of the ACNielsen sites carry the Nielsen logo, to wit: http://www.homescan.com/

- Oppose unless the WP:LEAD is re-written to begin with this name.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 04:23, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose. This is a classic case of one reason we don't slavishly follow official names in our naming conventions. It's a famous organisation, and the change of name will take a while to catch on, and it's even possible it never will. Andrewa (talk) 18:32, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
