Article on Attacks and Abilities

I personally don't think we should merge the article about Nico Robin's Attacks and Abilities with her main article due to its length, and as the story progresses, we'll probably see more of her attacks, thus augmenting the article even further. I've also noticed how other One Piece characters have seperate articles listing their attacks, so I don't see any reason why Robin's should be merged with her main article. Why does it say Robin can on make 200 parts of her body with her HanaHana powers? I haven't seen a side note out how many limbs she can or can't make, the only thing close to that is a SBS question from Volume 28 "What's the radius that Nico Robin can extend parts of her body, 200 HanaHana's? by tomoya" and in that HanaHana is used as an unit of measurement.

Hey why does it say that she can only place her limbs on an area she can see, thats not true because when they were in Alabasta she put her arms on the other side of the wall to stop the guards from entering.--Amp99 (talk) 01:00, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Shorten Article

I've sumarized the article because it was really long and detailed every single known thing Robin has ever done, which is not nesisary. Only up to chapter 353 though, since I havn't read any further yet. Someone else can do that, or I will when I'm caught up.

I think it needs that attention again. Its got an aweful lot of long paragrahs. Is there a way to shorten all this info into small paragraphs? Angel Emfrbl 17:58, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Is there really anything wrong with the long paragraphs? After all, these are encyclopedia articles meant to give as much information as possible to the readers. Many people I know often go on Wikipedia for spoilers, so therefore, they enjoy the long paragraphs. Nights1stStar 20:45, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Those Pink Petals?

In One Piece: Grand Battle Robin seemed to throw around a lot of pink petals to create surfaces for her to sprout arms from. Can anyone confirm if she does this in the manga/anime? And if so, anyone have any idea as to what kind of petals they are (cherry blossoms?)?

No, in the manga at least, Robin does not use petals.

Then petals are an effect. she uses Hana Hana fruit powers, and Hana is flower. So sometimes when she uses or puts away the parts of her that shew grew, she has flowers come off of them.

The flowers look very much like cherry blossom petals, and are just special effects the video game put in. In the anime and manga, petals do not appear when she attacks(unless you count this one scene in an opening song). The flowers spring from the idea that Robin can sprout multiple replications of any body part on a surface, just like flowers.

Actually from time to time they DO appear in the scene in both the manga and anime. Just not very often. They appear when her arms sprout or disappear. I can prove it too with the anime... Just watch the ep where Luffy + Zoro return from being beaten up by Bellamy. She hands up a map to the crew on board Merry and you can see the petals. As for Manga... Check out the group bounties:

poorly written

Can someone please rewrite the CP9 bit... Up to the buster call mention, its fine... But its a bit confusing to read because 'actually' is use for apparently no reason, then the buster call which hasn't been mentioned until that point. Angel Emfrbl 21:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Her Height

It's not that Robin's freakishly tall... it's that everyone else is really short. Quite a bit shorter than they are drawn, in fact. That's pretty common in manga though, they're always messing up the character heights. So don't worry about it too much. --tjstrf 18:08, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

A request

Okay, the 'Saulo's friendship' and 'Saulo's Sacrifice'... Can we cut these down to 3 paragraphs, 3 at the most. There is no need for such huge details. If it can't be helped... Fine, but we don't need to have every events leding to what happened listed. If someone wants to know more, they can read the manga, watching the anime or look up a fan site. Profile image

I reverted the profile image back to its previous state, which depicts Robin in the Enies Lobby arc. Luffy, Nami, Zoro and most of the Strawhat Crew's profile images are also from this arc. Can we leave this image as the photo one here... I know its not the best, but after the constant edit wars over the images, its best to declare one image is the choice for her profile and leave it at that. If anyone changes it, wrevert to this one. its says she appeares in episode 67 but she apeares first time in episode 47 as " miss sunday "

Incorrectness

Since someone wrote it up let me just point out when Robin said :

"So long as I can see it!"

During the Jaya arc what she was actually saying was so long as she can see where the South bird is, she can grab the south bird. Not that she needs to she the location to sprout the limbs. Robin's Nicknames

One of the updates says it was being made to "improve the quality of One Piece articles on Wikipedia". I'll be direct. I disagree with removing the "nicknames" she initially gives to the others:

• "Kancho" (Luffy)
• "Kenshi-san" (Zoro)
• "Kokaishi-san" (Nami)
• "Nagahana-kun" (Usopp)
• "Kokku-san" (Sanji)
• "Issha-san" (Chopper)

This is one of her unique quirks (in comparison to the other characters), along with the fact that she doesn't (over)react with exaggerated emotion like the others do. I think these should be restored because they describe a unique aspect to this character: something I think is both relevant and notable for an encyclopedia article. For one thing, the U.S. hasn't gotten that far in the manga or anime yet. Also, from a historical perspective (in regards to One Piece), she did use them at one time. It's important for an encyclopedia article to also have historical context. To put it simply, it should be mentioned that she called them by those names during the early days of being with them, but now she actually calls them by name. It's important to include as much relevant history about a character as possible, especially when it concerns certain quirks for a character as I previously mentioned (whether those quirks are past or present). Then does that mean we should remove the "About Robin" section, then? Many (though admittedly not all) fictional characters have a backstory (and thus, a history) as created by the writers who work on a show or comic, which includes the mannerisms people have which are part of their personalities. Robin had certain mannerisms at some point, even though they have changed over time, and I'm assuming that she still isn't prone to the aforementioned exaggerated outbursts of emotion. Are you saying all that is irrelevant for an encyclopedia article? Personally, I don't think so. How about this. All you need to know about the characters is perhaps a small backgrounding, what they can do, notes supplied by the creatator, all this build a rough description of who they are so the reader knows who they are. That is all you need to know. Really, all you should be able to do when you get to this page is go, "Oh look, Nico Robin, she is from X show and is with X group". Its an insight as to what something is, not a essay about their role in the story. If you want to know more, look up the wikia or watch the show... Thats how wikipedia works. Trivia

Following facts have been removed from the article by more than one editor. And have repeatedly been put back by another:

• Series creator Eiichiro Oda has stated that Nico Robin is represented by the color purple and she smells of flowers. Her favorite foods are sandwiches, cakes that are not too sweet, and things that go well with coffee.

• Another one of Robin's unique characteristic is the way she calls her fellow crew members by their own distinct characteristics. Zoro as Mr. Swordsman, Nami as Miss Navigator, Usopp as Mr. Long Nose, and so forth.

I say it's fancruft and should be removed. Other oppinions?

Robin's eye color

I've edited the so-called "fact" that in the manga of One Piece, and the games One Piece: Unlimited Adventure and One Piece: Unlimited Cruise, Nico Robin's eye color is brown where only in the manga it is blue. But I've read the manga as well as seen both games in question, and guess what: Robin's eye color is still blue!
