A few things
[edit]We're trying a few things with this page, and of course since it's Wikipedia this is all malleable and community-controlled, but before any fundamental changes are made I wanted to mention the following.
- The groupings are studio, live, compilation, with albums/EPs/singles being subdivisions within each, which although unconventional seems to make more sense than to place those disparate categories together in the traditional album-EP-singles grouping. Long-term this is obviously up to the community but it seemed interesting to try.
- At least one film score is separate from the soundtrack albums as it was not - to the best of my reading of the sources - an album Cave made as a recording artist, but rather was a score he, Bargeld, and Harvey composed for orchestra that was recorded without any vocal or instrumental contributions from them. Similarly to how Roger Waters' opera and Paul McCartney's classical/film work are given separate sections, it made sense to differentiate here.
- There is a short soundtrack. This was a score which was short enough to not warrant its own soundtrack and be a part of a larger various artists' album, but it was also a nine-track score, not just a song composed for a movie. It made sense on a cataloging level to give it its own section, but if a literalist perspective prevails we could move it to the other appearances section. Conversely we could move Faraway, So Close! to the short soundtrack section, as it is also an example of a multiple-part suite for a film.
Beyond that there are a few corrections, in the forms of additions, subtractions, and alterations that some may notice based on the original discography from his main page. Everything should be in order but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Anything that needs to be changed can, but let's discuss it here first. Thank you.
